GRE Acceptance/ Waiver Request for the Application to PhD in Public Administration

I want to convince them to admit me without considering the GRE scores Because I have a master in the field, I have 4 years work experience in the field Working for the state of florida. where I use my analytical writing and critical thinking on a daily basis. Writing reports and training different classes every 3 moths. i have GPA 4.00… See information below, if you have any questions please let me know. Subject: GRE Acceptance/ Waiver Request for the Application to PhD in Public Administration Dear Graduate School Admissions Committee, I have been a great student from my associate to master’s degree (see my transcripts). However, my biggest problem is the GRE, it frustrates me because it does not define my performance. Furthermore, I possess all the skills and knowledge to perform well in in graduate school, transcripts prove it well. I want to highlight that my GPA does not reflect my academic performance. Although I signed up for the GRE course to be well prepared to take the test, it did not help me. I took the GRE about six times to improve my score, I have not been successful. However, I refuse to get rejected because I did not meet the required department GRE score level. I know I can succeed and be excellent without a perfect GRE score because my graduate and undergraduate performance is a testimony to the above. Further, my math and statistic grades are good, and I have graduated with outstanding academic performance in my masters (see attached certificate). As per my conversation with the graduation school admission committee, I was referred to Dr. Sementalli, the chair of the department, to ask for a GRE waiver for my application. Therefore, I am writing to formally request a GRE exam waiver for my application to the Public Administration PhD Program at Florida Atlantic University. Additionally, I have a master’s degree in public administration from University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and four years of work experience in the public sector (State of Florida) as an undergraduate, where I used to provide tutoring in math and French. I also have two years of graduate assistant experience involving research and class preparation. I completed my Master’s in Public Administration with a GPA of 4.0. Therefore, I strongly believe that my background already gives me the adequate quantitative, analytical, and reasoning skills tested by the GRE exam. I understand that the GRE is a requirement for the department, but I do not want it to keep me from achieving my goals. Moreover, my scores have improved a little, but did not reach the 60th percentile despite appearing for the GRE six times now. I request the committee to understand that my GRE scores do not reflect my true abilities. I am an excellent student with an outstanding GPA and my master’s grades prove that I can succeed in graduate school. Although I have taken a GRE preparation course to help me, the problem is not the course material; rather, my mental state is a barrier. After graduating, I joined the state of Florida where I currently work as a coordinator of community affairs. My role involves strong analytical writing and thinking. I am aware that the GRE test is crucial for the selection process; however, I would be obliged if you provided a special case waiver due to my testing anxiety. I thank you for your time and would truly appreciate a consideration of my request to weigh my accomplishments against the requirement of the GRE exam for my application. Best

The Assignments Paper: 10-page Response Journal -The Ingredients of an Artwork

Be typed in MLA Format (12 point font: Times New Roman or Ariel, double-spaced) *contain a minimum of 10-pages of written text (you will select 5 topics from the list below to respond to and each topic response should be at least 2-pages in length) *compile all 5 topic responses into 1 overall Response Journal paper *contain topic numbers and titles to visually separate the 5 responses within the overall Journal *contain a Works Cited page (in addition to the 10-pages of text) *TOPIC CHOICE #1: The Ingredients of an Artwork (2-pages) = Just as a good cook assembles the perfect ingredients for a delicious recipe, an artist assembles the right elements for a successful artwork. Select any artwork from the textbook and write a recipe (including ingredients, directions, and critique) of the composition. For example, Delacroix’s Liberty Leading the People contains implied lines, organic shape, range of values, primary color scheme, and depth in space. This topic requires you to “think like an artist” as you deconstruct the composition, as well as “respond like an art critic” as you evaluate the technique and theory. *TOPIC CHOICE #2: Writing about Space (2-pages) = Select an ancient and a modern work of art, and write a response that describes the similar and disparate uses of space, identifying the spatial strategies employed by the artists. *TOPIC CHOICE #3: Color Facts (2-pages) =How is color interpreted in different cultures? Do colors affect our behavior? What are some of the scientific aspects of color? For this response, please relate the information you gather to your own experiences with color. *TOPIC CHOICE #4: Just What Is Postmodernism? (2-pages) = Contemporary artists (such as Elizabeth Murray) and architects (Robert Venturi or Frank Gehry) have begun to explore the notion of a new set of principles, based upon the eclectic sum of our modern, complex, visual world of neon signs and fast sound bites. This sense of disjunction, that the parts can never form a unified whole, is what we have come to identify as Postmodernism. In his book, Learning from Las Vegas, Robert Venturi asserts that the collision of signs, styles, and symbols that mark the “American Strip,” in particular Las Vegas, could be seen as a new form of unity. “Disorder,” Venturi writes “[is] an order we cannot see….” This response should define Postmodernism and provide examples of where you have seen this union of eclectic designs. *TOPIC CHOICE #5: Mesopotamian Civilizations (2-pages) = This response should address the early civilizations of the Mesopotamian region. It should provide a summary of each group (Sumerians, Babylonians, Assyrians, and Persians) that lived in this region along with their major contributions, especially their artistic contributions.

Vicarious Trauma

Please find attached our comments, recommendations and suggestions for the next deliverable. The comments are in a different color inside the text, and I also made a few more in the margins (see revisions pane in Word and select all markup). We did not make many language revisions, so this will be your responsibility to enhance the language level, revise the draft thoroughly as well as add more sources, especially in the last pillar of your literature review, (when you boil the general problem down to a specific problem).

Write a paper reviewing your experiences during adolescence–any age period of 10-25—from early adolescence (10-14 years of age), mid-adolescence (15-17 years of age), or emerging adulthood (age 18-25)

: Write a paper reviewing your experiences during adolescence–any age period of 10-25—from early adolescence (10-14 years of age), mid-adolescence (15-17 years of age), or emerging adulthood (age 18-25). It doesn’t necessarily have to be on teenage years. Your paper need to address significant issues and life events that you experienced during adolescence and the effect these events and issues had on you at the time and may currently still have. Although the rubrics included sexuality, drugs, peer pressure, and body image, you can write about other issues that affected your adolescence (e.g., bullying, teen dating violence, etc.). In other words, if, for example, “low self-esteem due to body image” was really not an issue for you but “bullying” was, then you can write about bullying instead of body image.You also need to address how issues of diversity affect your adolescence? For example, during your teenage years, you might not have been exposed to a racially or culturally diverse group of peers until you went to college, which might have challenged your perspectives you grew up with. Or, perhaps, as a child of immigrant parents, you lived in ethnic enclave in Hamtramck where there were many different ethnicities. Discussion of at least 3 theories OR perspectives must be integrated into your paper.Show how the theories/perspectives can be used to explain your behavior. For example, you may want to discuss how social learning theory may explain your involvement with certain friends. You might look at Hutchison textbook, Chapter 2 but I encourage you to skim through the book. The theories/perspectives do NOT necessarily have to come from the
