Pick a topic that you consider yourself an expert in

Task: The “chapter 7” reading talks about writing an argument and the “chapter 11” reading talks about research techniques. This essay asks you to practice those skills while simultaneously writing about something you know well (and hopefully enjoy talking about). Pick a topic that you consider yourself an expert in. For example, if you play a sport on campus you could write about playing that sport in college. You could also write about any hobbies you have or skills you’ve acquired. Your paper must include at least two outside sources and must make a definite argument. Be sure to pick types of sources that are relevant to your subject. Also, be sure to cite your sources carefully.

Examples/Topic ideas

If you’re a student athlete: You could look up information on whether people continue to play your sport after college and argue that it is or isn’t a good sport to play in college for those wanting to pick up a lifetime practice. Or you could look up information on injury rates and argue whether or not it’s worth playing at the college level. Or you could look up graduation rates and grades, etc. Note: Do not write about CTE in football. That topic has been done too many times in the recent past and it would be difficult to avoid accidental plagiarism with it.

:If you’re into cooking or baking: You could investigate the benefits of learning to cook or bake young. Or you could investigate the health benefits of cooking at home instead of eating out every day and argue about that, etc.
If you’re into yoga or running: You could argue about the health benefits or about the best practices for different people, etc.

If you’re into shopping: You could research or argue about the way shopping practices have changed with the rise of internet shopping. Or you could research and explain how to find the best deals on specific types of things, etc.

In short, you’re welcome to pick any subject that you are familiar with, provided that you make a definite argument and include at least 2 appropriate sources. That said, I suggest that, as with the proposal paper, you stick to “local’, narrow topics and avoid taking on huge national or international issues.

Lack of Government Aid  Poverty Ridden Communities Leads to Terrorism

Topic: The basic cause of terrorism is the failure of governments in providing justice to the people- Discuss.
○     Corruption in countries such as Nigeria and Afghanistan lead to terror groups running rampant throughout
■   Firstly, key word: radical islam / sharia law
■    Lastly,Key word: western education
○     Government exploitation such as in India have fueled terrorist groups to attack the state
■     Key word: Naxalism

○     Political corruption such as in Ireland with denying them limited form of elected representation

■     Key word: Home rule
■     Key word: Potato Famine
●     Importance of this Topic: This topic shows the correlation between having a corrupt government system and the outbreak of terrorism within a country.
●     Conclusion: Terrorism feeds off of the lack of stability in governments across the world. Using the failures that governments have made to pin its people against it.  In the countries examined, it was observed how each government had a level of instability and lack of care for its people that in return led to an outbreak of radical groups. To end terrorism in these countries, the governments need to formulate and provide the needs being demanded from its people.

Firstly, the format of your abstract is improper. I have ask you to examine some abstracts from the readings to see how it is presented. You do not need keywords for each region. You should also combine these failures of the government to present a cohesive argument with examples from these countries.
Furthermore, the outline suggests that you are limiting yourself to the contents of readings done for the class.

Secondly, you have already answered them through your assignments and essays and at this stage it is expected that you display your knowledge by widening your scope. In all the three countries the genesis of terrorism is wider than simply the issue of government corruption.

Thirdly, the regional focus of the terrorist groups suggests a rational approach based upon geography, history and many other factors.

Moreover, the objectives of establishing a communist state in India, an Islamic Sharia government state in Nigerian and a Catholic dominate region in N Ireland further suggest reasons other than government failures are also factors in violence adopts by these groups.

Additionally, try and apply the concept of human rights to a wider perspective with examples from other countries while using these three also.

Lastly,Since terrorism is a politically driven use of violence, emphasis upon human rights by the government address the political grievances and hence diffuse the need for violence. Think about this approach.

Analyse the brand salience and associations of two brands

The objective of this assignment is to test students’ ability to measure, compare and critically analyse the brand salience and associations of two brands available in the Australian market.

Analyse the brand salience and associations of two brands

Part A: Case study – Brand Reflection Report (25%)

Overview: “ Brand Awareness and Brand Associations
Firstly, the objective of this assignment is to test students’ ability to measure, compare and critically analyse the brand salience and associations of two brands available in the Australian market. It is expected that students will be able to justify the importance of brand salience and brand associations for brand managers.

Secondly, the report should be typed in 1.5 line spacing on one side only of single A4 sheets using 12pt font and 2cm margins. It should be of no more 1,500 words (excluding cover sheet, reference list and appendices). Include all secondary data research (netnography) in the appendix.

Customer based brand-equity (CBBE) model

To complete the assignment, you need to be familiar with the customer based brand-equity (CBBE) model (Chapters 2 and 3, Keller 2013). The CBBE model looks at building a brand as a sequence of steps required for successfully achieving set objectives. The first step – brand salience – ensures the identification of the brand by customers, as well as step 2 – allows for identification of relevant brand associations of the brand with a specific product class and customer need.

Details
Choose any two brands from the following FMCG product categories available in Australia: Cereal, Confectionary, Snack Food, and Instant Soups. Choose one brand that is prominent in the marketplace and another one (same product category), which you feel Australian consumers are not very familiar with. Conducting secondary research you are expected to report on the breadth and depth of brand awareness (page 108; Keller 2013) for the chosen brands.

Brands discussion

For any one of the brands discussed, identify the associations that you feel contribute significantly towards the brand’s equity. Using secondary research, you have to construct a mind map by undertaking a ‘brand associations’ research task. You are expected to report on the strength, favourability and uniqueness of brand associations (pages 76-79; Keller 2013) as well as present the brand’s mind map (pages 297 and 327; Keller 2013).

Your report should have the following components:

Firstly,iIntroduction (about 150 words)
The introduction should highlight the main purpose of your report. Further, it should guide the reader/examiner on the structure of your report.

Secondly, Discussion

I. Brand awareness (600-650 words)

Theoretical discussion of the importance of brand awareness (about 200-250 words). Referring to 1-2 journal articles on brand awareness (concepts relating to brand salience include brand recall, recognition, and brand familiarity), discuss the importance of measuring brand awareness. Note: Do not regurgitate the Keller textbook.
Presentation and discussion of breadth and depth of brand awareness for chosen brands (about 400-450 words).
(Note: Secondary data results to be include in the appendix).

II. Brand associations (about 600-650 words)

Firstly, discussion of the importance of brand associations (about 200-250 words). Secondly, referring to 1-2 journal articles, discuss the rationale for measuring brand associations from the authors’ perspective.
Lastly, presentation and discussion of the “brand associations” findings including mind map (about 400-450 words).
(Note: Secondary data results to be include in the appendix).
3. Conclusion (about 100 words).
