Everyone knows the old adage “An apple a day keeps the doctor away.”

Getting preventive care is just like having that apple a day.

When you get regular preventive care, like going to the doctor for check-ups, you help protect and maintain your good health and help avoid more serious conditions.

What is preventive care?

When most people think about preventive care, they think about vaccines.

Flu shots, MMR boosters, and tetanus shots are all important safeguards against

common viruses that have affected much of the population in the past.

Because of preventive care, they are now very rare.

But regular preventive care includes much more than your yearly flu shot.

Screenings, blood tests, counseling, and other kinds of health checks help keep both

your body and your mind in good condition.

For instance, women over the age of forty are encourage to get regular mammograms

to screen for breast cancer.

Close to 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer over a lifetime, but the disease can be

treated with much greater success if it’s caught in its early stages.

Present a full discussion of the cruising industry’s evolution from 1800 to the present. Provide a section that presents the logistics of a cruise line’s operations.

This will focus on how a cruising path is chosen, requirements to be a
cruise captain, how entertainment and information is gather, decide and present to customers.

Conclude your discussion with a few paragraphs explaining your thoughts

for the future of cruising and how you believe the evolution of cruising should be included in an undergraduate hospitality curriculum/degree.

Resources can include online sources, but a minimum of 7 academic sources must be there.

More Details:

In addition, cruising has grown over 7% a year since 1980. Sustained rapid expansion in North America, followed by local expansion in Europe and Asia,

has made cruising a global industry, with 365 ships and estimated sales of $37.8 US billion (CIN, 2017).

More so, this global development has been in fuel by innovation and introduction of market changing resident ships appealing to the mass traveler which were quickly in match by competitors,

establishment of industry and port marketing organizations, awareness of cruising as a vacation option, and availability of suitable port and berthing facilities.

When these four conditions coexisted the industry experienced rapid growth.

Since 1966, the cruise industry has developed from a Miami-centered industry to a global industry centered in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia/New Zealand.

Also, given the high cost of state-of-the-art ships, their deployment is a good indication of industry’s confidence in market growth.

This chapter chronicles the development of the Asian cruise industry from 1994 through 2017.

Lastly, data from Cruise Industry News Annual Reports (CIN) and Berlitz Complete Guide to Cruising and Cruise Ships (Ward) are in examination and conclusions are drawn.

How effective are your internal and external supply chains

How effective are your internal and external supply chains within your organisation? Are you re-active or pro-active? Within a supply chain, what defines added value for your organisation?

How effective are your internal and external supply chains within your organisation

Your organisation is likely to face increased competition and significant change over the coming years.

Consider the article below taken from Supply Management

Companies with strong supply chains generate more revenue and higher profits.
That’s the finding of a survey by Deloitte of 421 business leaders in more than 10 countries.

It said that 79 per cent of “supply chain leaders” reported revenue growth “significantly” above the industry average.

This is compared with just 8 per cent of companies with weaker supply chain performance that reported higher than average revenue growth.

In terms of earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT), 69 per cent of supply chain leaders have an EBIT margin that is well above the industry average, the Supply Chain Leaders report found.

Deloitte defines supply chain leaders as businesses rated by their executives as “significantly above average” on inventory turnover and by the percentage

of deliveries that are on time and in full compared with other companies.

They comprised 12 per cent of the total survey sample.

The consultancy said the best performing companies have the ability to innovate, putting new ideas at the top of their agenda and are “early adopters of disruptive technologies” such as 3D printing.

Time juveniles commit delinquent behaviors and crimes

1. Time juveniles commit delinquent behaviors and crimes:
More than 70 years ago, Kvaraceus (1945) reported that more juvenile crime occurred on weekdays than on weekends and that juvenile crime peaked following the close of school in the mid-afternoon.

A half-century later, Snyder, Sickmund, and Poe-Yamagata (1996) examined the proportion of juvenile violent crimes reported to law enforcement agencies at different time blocks of day.

They examined data from the FBI’s National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS) of South Carolina in 1991 and 1992.

They found that a higher percentage of violent crimes (22 percent versus 17 percent) occurred during the hours between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.

on weekdays than during the hours between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. on weekdays and between midnight and 6 a.m. on weekends.

In their longitudinal study, Sickmund and Puzzanchera (2014: 47) found that “based on violent crimes reported to law enforcement,

juveniles were more than twice as likely to be victimized between 3 and 4 p.m. on school days as in the same time period on non-school days.”

Please share some possible reasons about the patterns of time that juveniles committing delinquent and criminal behaviors.

2. Based on the readings (book chapters and supplemental reports), what impacts have “Zero Tolerance” school policies had on juvenile delinquency?

3. Tattoos have become important symbols in the youth subculture. Do they reflect deviance or conformity, or both?

Should the educational system implement any policy regarding tattoos in schools? At what age should youths be allowed to legally get tattoos?

Should it be considered delinquency if youths get one before that age? If so, what
should be the consequences?

How can asymmetric information lead to adverse selection

Please read George Akerlof’s article, “The Market for ‘Lemons’: Quality Uncertainty and the Market Mechanism,” and respond to the following prompts.

Understanding the math is less important than understanding the economic terms, applications, and conclusions presented in the article.

How can asymmetric information lead to adverse selection, and how does this apply to a market for used cars?

What are the implications of this issue for insurance, employment, fraud, or credit markets in developing countries?

(Choose one).

What are some ways markets can overcome this kind of adverse selection problem without resorting to government intervention?

Article: Akerlof, G. (1970). The Market for “Lemons”: Quality Uncertainty and the Market Mechanism.

The Quarterly Journal of Economics, 84(3), 488-500.
Your writing should be more than 500 words in length and be formatted according to

APA style and must include intext citations and the list references for the text and use at least two additional scholarly sources from the Bryan College Library or other websites.

More Details:

Understanding Adverse Selection

Adverse selection occurs when one party in a negotiation has relevant information the other party lacks. The asymmetry of information often leads to making bad decisions, such as doing more business with less-profitable or riskier market segments.

In the case of insurance, avoiding adverse selection requires identifying groups of people more at risk than the general population and charging them more money.

For example, life insurance companies go through underwriting when evaluating

whether to give an applicant a policy and what premium to charge.

Underwriters typically evaluate an applicant’s height, weight, current health, medical history, family history, occupation, hobbies, driving record, and lifestyle risks such as smoking;

all these issues impact an applicant’s health and the company’s potential for paying a claim.

The insurance company then determines whether to give the applicant a policy and what premium to charge for taking on that risk.
