Marx’s ideas have come to constitute a method for understanding society. Rather than a definitive explanation, his ideas orient us to a particular manner for investigating social reality. Act as if you were a high school athletic director. What issues are most important factors to consider when working with transgender athletes? Should athletes be forced to compete against the gender in which is assigned on their birth certificates? How would you approach the situation of a transgender athlete wanting to complete? What are issues you might face based on your decision? How is the community and school involved?
