The length of the paper is a minimum of 2,500 words (excluding title page and references/bibliography), typed (double spaced) and is due December 6 at class time. Both an electronic (MS Word via email) and paper (hard) copy is to be submitted. The paper should utilize at least 4 references, 3 of which must be books and/or academic/professional journals articles; internet sources used must be from a relevant and authoritative source (Wikipedia, for example, would not be an authoritative source; if in doubt, consult with professor). The paper should follow standard format including an introduction, body, conclusion/discussion, and bibliography (and in-text references) appropriately formatted (MLA or APA style: www.apastyle.org), and with numbered pages. The paper must weave (incorporate) issues of ethical principles, societal values, civic responsibility, and steward ship of our environment. Delays on submitting topic proposal or final paper, misspellings, grammatical errors, and lack of or improper referencing will be penalized. An alternative, if interested, is to write a (pre-approved) book report. Contact the instructor if you wish to pursue this option (you will need to decide this early in the semester to insure sufficient time to read book).
