My family was devastated by Hurricane Katrina in August of 2005 living in the New Orleans area, I wanted to write about how the disaster destroyed our home but actually made our family closer because of the tight living quarters etc, while we recovered from the storm. Challenges included gutting our house (12 feet of water inside), cleaning, rebuilding, etc.
