The myth: Oedipus the King Select an individual myth from a culture within the scope of study for this class.

1. Examine the origin of the myth and the effect that this event had on society. Your analysis should encompass: Symbolism within the myth Purpose of the myth in the society in which it originated The political and social impact on the country/area The evidence and context of the event in art, literature, and music The lasting effects of the myth as evidenced in cultures that followed A short, personal statement describing your reaction to this myth and how it may/may not translate to modern culture. 

The paper must be analyzing any topic, for instance, African lifestyle magazines, literary world, blog cultures, beauty pageants, media demonstrate sophisticated understanding of the historical, cultural, political, ideological and aesthetic considerations which frame it. Studies of distinctive features of ‘African popular culture’, their interactions and exchanges with global popular cultures are, especially, encouraged. As such, concerted, interdisciplinary, scholarly framework for critically engaging the filed are particularly encouraged.

What are the important characteristics of scholarly sources? Why are scholarly sources more appropriate for academic research than other sources such as blogs or newspaper articles?

Compare and contrast at least two climinolgical throries. Do you believe one theory does a better job in explaining criminal behaviour? What is your conclusion based on your research. Do the external sources agree with out selected book. (Criminological theory The essentials, third edition, by Stephen G. Tibbetts) Who are the main proponents of each theory? Were there any studies done with your particular theroy? Theroy examples i like: Rational Choice theroy, routine activities theroy, strain theory.

Discuss the issues and regulatory challenges associated with the chemical properties of nano-particles. What must or could be done regarding regulatory pre-market approvals of these chemical properties to protect human health and the environment?

2.There is a racial privilege quiz. The point of the quiz is to identify people with racial advantage and disadvantage. This quiz is like a diagnostic. It is meant to determine if, in your everyday life, you have signs and symptoms of racial advantage or disadvantage. What score did you receive on the quiz?
